This article discusses the partnerships entered by private equity firms with Indian nations in 2009. Financier John Jurrius, private-equity firm Quantum Energy Partners and IBC Energy Inc. seek to back investments in natural gas exploration, mineral ventures or wind-generated renewable energy projects. Portfolio company NARP has received funding from the private-equity group to invest in Western Canada's Indian lands through a partnership with IBC Energy. GF Private Equity Group LLC also expressed interest in such investments.
