Two news briefs are presented on the activities of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA). The venue of the August 2010 76th World Congress was changed from Brisbane, Australia to Göteborg, Sweden owing to tight travel money in a time of economic crisis. Personnel changes at headquarters in the Hague, Netherlands were reported under the new general secretary, Australian Jennefer Nicholson.
