ABSTRACT
The article informs that the U.S. National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) has teamed up with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. to develop an airless tire to transport large, long-range vehicles across the surface of the moon for a planned Apollo moon landing. Goodyear has created a Spring Tire in more than a year and a half to transport much heavier vehicles over greater distances to meet the demand. The tire weighs 40 pounds and has 800 load bearing springs.
