ABSTRACT
In this article the author discusses a significant private collection of art acquired by the Gerini family of Florence, Italy. The central focus of the piece is on the collection possessed by the Marquis Carlo Gerini in the 17th century. Contained in the article are descriptions of documents from the Gerini archives related to the collection, such as inventories, as well as information on payments made for the paintings. The collection contained artworks by a number of artists contemporary with Gerini, including Baldassare Francheschini, called "Il Volterrano," Salvator Rosa and Livio Mehus.
