ABSTRACT
The article reports developments related to politics in Georgia. The unemployment trust funds down to 425 million in 2009 compared to 1 billion in December 2008. The first "Barack Obama Leadership Award" recipient is Attorney General Thurbert Baker who is the only elected African-American attorney general. State Rep. Tommy Benton's opinion on the penalties of marijuana users caused many attacks from National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) members and fellow Republicans.
