ABSTRACT
This article presents updates on studies about industrial management, as of July 1979. Raymond Hunt of the State University of New York at Buffalo is evaluating methods of structuring and managing mixed-sector major systems acquisitions in the U.S. Air Force. Emanuel S. Savas, Franklin Edwards, Leonard Sayles and Donald E. Sexton of Columbia University are studying the effect of organizational arrangements on the efficiency and effectiveness of public services. Hoyt N. Wheeler of the University of Minnesota is studying elements of supervisory performance, factor structures of these elements, and determinants of performance measures in the fire services.
