ABSTRACT
The article describes the cases of four patients who developed anaphylaxis due to chlorhexidine after undergoing anaesthesia for cardiothoracic procedures. Anaphylaxis occurred in the patients after insertion of a central venous catheter (CVC) impregnated with silver sulphadiazine and chlorhexidine. They all received intravenous epinephrine, steroids andantihistamines for anaphylaxis management.
