The article presents information on the best small- and midsize companies of the Asia Pacific region for 2009 as ranked by the journal "Forbes Asia." 78 companies are from China and Hong Kong, which is up 15 from last year. Consumer-focused industries have accounted for 102 companies on the list of the best small- and midsize companies. It was found that entrepreneurs behind the winning companies saw their personal fortunes trimmed.
