ABSTRACT
The article discusses a study performed by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) which examined the effects of radiological dispersal device (RDD) or improvised nuclear device (IND) attacks on cities and states across the country. GAO found that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) plays a significant role in the development of a comprehensive emergency management attacks to respond nuclear terrorism. The study also explored ways on how to prevent RDD and IND incidents.
