ABSTRACT
The article presents the testimony of the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) regarding national strategy for monitoring high-containment laboratories delivered to the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. It states that high-containment laboratories dealing with dangerous pathogens are now emerging in all sectors because no single agency is responsible to track them down. It adds that oversight will help improve biosafety and ensure regulations compliance of these laboratories.
