ABSTRACT
The article discusses a research which examined peer-nominated high school principals' espoused practices in teacher professional development. It reviews related literature on the relationship between college cultural capital, citizenship and transformative teaching. Identification of Illinois high school principals who met two criteria using a purposeful snowball sampling technique is offered. A discussion of how principals adopt and practice the different roles in professional development toward the cultural capital components they collectively described. It explains in detail the key findings of the research.
