ABSTRACT
The article reports on the installation of 40 video surveillance cameras in Birmingham, Alabama to combat the emerging crime and vandalism as well as to provide a safe environment for the public. It notes that the systems integrator ION Interactive Video Technologies was hired by the mayor's office to install surveillance cameras across the city. It states that the company chose the ICVR because it has the ability to monitor for, and detect crowd which is the main concern of the city.
