ABSTRACT
The article discusses the principles for achieving breakthrough performance with the Balanced Scorecard (BSC). Senior executives achieved success by integrating the roles of leadership and management. The BSC is used by leaders to communicate a strategy that determines which customers the company decides to serve and the value proposition it offers to win loyalty. To make a strategy everyone's job, processes such as communicating, aligning personal objectives and linking variable pay to scorecard performance, must be accomplished.
