ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the commemoration of the 150-mile journey made by Henry Hudson in 1609 on the river named after him for the Quadricentennial celebration. New York State Governor David Paterson launched the Blessings of the Fleet on River Day, June 6, 2009 with the flotilla of historic and modern ships sailing at the Hudson River. Spectators of the celebration was estimated at 100,000 with 1,500 boaters joining the festivities and celebration at Battery Park.
