ABSTRACT
The article provides a historical overview of the Society of Toxicology (SOT). The Society's first formal meeting was held on April 15, 1962, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The SOT seal was adopted in the third year of the Society at the same time that the SOT was formally incorporated. It is noted that by embracing the newest science, drawing it into the annual meeting, and making it part of the practice of toxicology, SOT has grown and flourished over the years.
