Ewing's sarcoma of bone: ESMO Clinical Recommendations for diagnosis, treatment and follow-up

The article presents the clinical recommendations of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) for the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of Ewing's sarcoma of the bone. Hsitological diagnosis of the condition is made by needle biopsy or open surgical biopsy. The affected bone is evaluated radiologically prior to biopsy while pulmonary metastases are evaluated by computed tomography and bone metastases are investigated through bone scintigraphy. Patients with Ewing's sarcoma are treated in specialized centers.
