ABSTRACT
This article reports on the financial performance of chemical units at major oil companies in the second quarter of 2009. Chemical units posted mixed earnings due to lower raw material and operating costs. ExxonMobil Chemical reported a decline in its earnings. In contrast, the chemical unit of Chevron posted an increase in earnings.
