ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the findings of the study regarding an assessment to the usefulness of Cefoxitin disk diffusion (DD) to predict Methicillin resistance Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The study notes that out of the 155 strains of Staphylococcus aureus tested, 48.39% strains were Methicillin resistant by Oxacillin disk diffusion method compared to Oxacillin agar screen method that detected 50.32%. The Cefoxitin DD method indicates 54.54 % resistant strains found.
