The article reports that in a bid to increase grid sizes in 2010, the organisers of the American Le Mans Series announced that Formula Le Mans cars will become eligible in the new Le Mans Prototype (LMP) Challenge category. The LMP1 and LMP2 classes will be combined at most venues. The GT category will standardise on GT2 regulations, and the GT Challenge class for Porsche GT3 Cup cars will be continued, probably expanded to include other GT3 makes.
