ABSTRACT
The article discusses the result of crash tests carried out by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety which showed that none of the midsize sedan automobiles earned a top rating in bumper safety. The Mazda 6 automobile was the only one to receive an acceptable rating during the crash tests based on the average cost to repair bumpers following a 6 miles per hour (mph) crash. Ratings for the Honda Accord and Hyundai Sonata are also reported.
