ABSTRACT
The article examines the potential for health care reform measures proposed by U.S. President Barack Obama to transform the American medical care system. The author posits that the outcome will likely be a set of reform measures that alter the system without achieving the ideal presented by U.S. liberals. Obama’s attempts at reform are compared to the 2009 U.S. economic stimulus package, and the incorporation of a public health care option is discussed.
