The article reports that Kevin Clash was just a puppeteer performing small characters on the children's television show "Sesame Street" when he was chosen to give voice to the muppet Elmo. It is stated that the Emmy award winning Clash has turned Elmo the focus of Sesame Street. Elmo was chosen to host a television special on the economy and recession.
