ABSTRACT
This section offers news briefs related to the military as of October 2009. World War I veterans Harry Patch of Great Britain and John Campbell Ross of Australia died on July 25 and June 1, respectively. Surviving aviators of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs) were given the Congressional Gold Medal by the U.S. Congress. The American Revolution Center (ARC) plans to relocate at the former visitor center site at the Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
