The article focuses on how online social network Facebook.com has implemented electronic commerce into its newfeed application. Particular attention is given to startup company Alvenda's marketing strategy. Alvenda has been positioning retail stores into banner advertisements on Facebook and allowing consumers the ability to purchase items directly from the advertising units.
