ABSTRACT
The article reports on the installation of a wireless network of 56 Rapid Deployment Surveillance Solution (RDSS) PoleCams mounted on utility poles throughout the city of Buffalo, New York. Avrio Group, a network video surveillance integrator in Easton, Maryland installed the system which was part of the plan of Mayor Byron Brown to reduce the city's crime rate. Reportedly, police made five arrests with the help of the system while the installation of the video network was still in progress.
