The article reports on the 50 million U.S. dollar additional funding received by Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS), an outdoor gear and apparel company. The retailer based in Peterborough, New Hampshire raised the equity primarily from existing investors aside from a larger credit facility led by Wells Fargo Retail Finance, the senior lender. It provides a background of EMS. It presents an overview of various loan-to-own transactions in the retail sector like the sale of the credit card portfolio of Charming Shoppes Inc. to Alliance Data Systems Corp.
