This article reports that TPG Capital has sold Midwest Airlines to Republic Airways Holdings. The transaction is valued at 31 million U.S. dollars. Particular focus is given to the terms of the acquisition deal. Shares of Republic posted a gain as a result of the Midwest sale news. Northwest Airlines was the original partner of TPG in the acquisition of Midwest in 2007. There is a plan by Republic to replace Midwest's Boeing's 717s with Embraer 190 aircraft.
