ABSTRACT
The article reports on the announcement made by the Private Equity Council, saying it supports registering as investment advisers with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). According to Mark Tresnowski, managing director and general counsel of Madison Dearborn Partners, the private equity does not pose any systemic risk to the global financial system similar to what the failed financial services firms did in 2008 and 2009.
