ABSTRACT
The article reports on the announcement of Barclays about the sale of its asset management business, Barclays Global Investors, to BlackRock for 13.5 billion U.S. dollars. Under this deal, Barclays will get 20% interest in the newly-combined group, which will be renamed BlackRock Global Investors. With this, market analysts think that this is a new competition with State Street Corp. and Vanguard Group.
