ABSTRACT
The article looks at some potential deals. Publisher Playboy Enterpises, for one, is seeking an estimated 300 million U.S. dollars and it is speculated that the company may have trouble in finding buyer interest due to a high asking price. Meanwhile, Russ Berrie and Co., a maker of infant and children products, is exploring strategic alternatives, possibly a sale or divestiture. Also, Image Entertainment, which licenses and distributes DVD, has recruited Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin to explore potential financing alternatives or a sale.
