ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a New York-based private equity firm, to invest as much as 700 million U.S. dollars to acquire a 50% stake in a natural gas pipeline developed by El Paso Corp. A Houston, Texas-based energy exploration and production company, El Paso will function as the lead partner in developing the Ruby Pipeline project, and GIP would function as an equal joint venture partner upon completion of the pipeline.
