ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of Avago Technologies Ltd., a Singapore-based semiconductor manufacturer owned by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) and Silver Lake Partners, to launch an initial public offering for the first week of August 2009. Avago was divested by Agilen Technologies around 2005. The IPO would top 500 million U.S. dollars should the company be able sell its 36 million common shares at the top end of its target price of 13 to 15 U.S. dollars per share.
