ABSTRACT
The article reports on the economic forecasts of Latvia for 2009. It says that the country's economic conditions continued to deteriorate, slowing growth and the business cycle is now nearing its nadir. It also says that unemployment will rise and consumer demand will remain subdued over the medium term. However, its economic condition will stabilize in the second half of 2009.
