The article assesses the impact of the 2008-09 global financial crisis on Builth Wells, a rural, agricultural community in Wales. A number of issues are addressed including the financial health of farming and associated agricultural events, the decline of the construction industry in the area, and the a study that found the Builth Wells to be the happiest place to live in Great Britain.
