ABSTRACT
The article reports on the response of Chemed, owner of the Roto-Rooter Group, to activist investor MMI's call for a tax-free spinoff of the group. The investor argued that a spinoff could result to an increase of 40 to 75% per share as a separate listed entity. Chemed answered MMI by stating that it has no intention to separate its two businesses.
