ABSTRACT
This article reports on the acquisition by SK Capital Partners of the integrated nylon business unit of Solutia Inc., a manufacturer of materials used for industrial and auto parts. April 30, 2009 is the expected completion date for the transaction. In February 2008, Solutia emerged from bankruptcy with 2.05 billion U.S. dollars in financing by Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Goldman Sachs Credit Partners LP and Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. The auto industry slowdown has affected the business unit.
