ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the move of the Financial Services Authority (FSA) to secure a credit agreement with Lloyds TSB Group PLC and HSBC Holdings PLC in Great Britain. It states that the FSA had made use of the 100 million pounds credit agreement with Lloyds, and had secured an extra line of credit of 100 million pounds from HSBC to cover its funding deficit for 2008-2009. The regulator had intended to borrow from commercial banks rather than from the Bank of England or the Treasury.
