The article reports on Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s Sustainable Product Index policy plans in the U.S. It notes the project's aim to measure the sustainability of the company's every selling product. It also offers the three-step approach for the implementation of the policy including the self-assessment survey for the suppliers, the global information database and creating a rating system for the consumers.
