ABSTRACT
The article reports on the assertions that Barclays PLC's cash payout to members of a final-salary pension scheme will have little impact on members in Great Britain. Chief executive John Varley offered to delay the implementation of proposed changes to allow employees to establish extra accruals. Measures of the cash payout are outlined by Varley after threats of strike action and protests emerged.
