ABSTRACT
The article reports that two new giant bromelioids species were discovered in 2008 at the Atlantic Forest in Espírito Santo State, Brazil. These are the species of Aechmea (A.) subgenus chevaliera and the typical hohenbergia. The plants were named aechmea aguadocensis and hohenbergia mutabilis. The aechmea aguadocensis is said to be similar to A. cariocae and also compared to A. muricata while the hohenbergia mutabilis is closely related to Hohenbergia (H.) itamarajuensis.
