ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs on the rubber industry. Apollo Tyres Ltd. has started production of off-the-road tires at a new $27 million plant in Limbda, Gujarat, India. The International Rubber Study Group and the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers Inc. have released the 2008 version of the study "Demand for Natural Rubber (NR) and various forms of Synthetic Rubber (SR)." Lanxess Corp. has agreed to pay a $3.1 million civil penalty.
