ABSTRACT
The article deals with the significance of a document known as user requirements specification (URS) which can serve as a basis for realizing a solution. It says that the URS is not just a paper that specifies the user's processes and requirements but it also documents the decisions to which the internal parties have agreed. Moreover, URS gives the vendor with sufficient information about the firm and about the needs for the manufacturing execution system (MES).
