Pharmas seem ready with swine flue vaccines

The article looks whether pharmaceutical companies are ready with vaccines for swine flu as the World Health Organization (WHO) raised the threat level to pandemic status. According to Novartis, it had provided its first batch of the vaccine for influenza AH1N1 on June 12, 2009. It was reported that there have been 28,000 cases of swine flu and 141 deaths in several countries since this virus started in Mexico. Other firms like GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi-Aventis and Solvay SA have said that they are ready to begin production of vaccines to combat the virus.
