ABSTRACT
The article reports on the statement by Chris Clark, head of human resources (HR) at Mazda, that investing in the firm's Field Team Academy, has helped the company to develop its own sales managers rather than having to import talent from elsewhere. The academy programme was established to address the recruitment challenges in business managers and regional corporate sales managers. Since the academy was created, Mazda reduced its headcount and training budgets have also been reduced.
