ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a report on social mobility in Great Britain which indicates that employers need to change their internship policies to enable more people from poorer backgrounds to gain access to the professions. The panel on fair access to the professions which prepared the report proposed a new code of practice for internships. The human resources (HR) chiefs of Lloyds Banking Group and F&C Asset Management approve of the panel's recommendation.
