ABSTRACT
The article reports on the results of a study led by Wen-Jui Yang in Taiwan to test whether early cleavage was a strong indicator of pregnancy in patients undergoing either a GnRH agonists protocol or antagonist protocol for in vitro fertilization (IVF) and ICSI. The study includes 534 patients undergoing oocyte retrieval and day-three embryo transfer. It shows that the early cleavage of a zygote is not accurate in predicting embryo implantation potential with the GnRH antagonist protocol.
