ABSTRACT
The article reports on the expectation for most of the 67 crackers in northeast and southeast Asia to operate at 90 to 100 percent in July 2009 to be supported by the decline in prices of polyethylene (PE) and monoethylene glycol exports to Asia from the Middle East. It is said that the margins gained by PE makers caused the change of ethylene price targets by olefins traders. Another factor cited that will provide support for monoethylene is the rebound in feedstock naphta and crude values.
