ABSTRACT
The article features English singer-songwriter and musician Nick Drake. It is stated that Drake's inability to perform live may have contributed to his lack in commercial success. A discussion on the role of record label Island in increasing the popularity of Drake after his death is presented. According to the article, both author Patrick Humphries, who wrote Drake's biography in 1997, and writer Ian MacDonald attempted to explain what the musician and his music actually meant to people who followed him and why so little is known about him.
