ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a report on air pollution by coal-burning in Texas, prepared by the U.S. Government Accountability Office. Information on the current situation of permitting coal-burning, electricity-generating units in Central Texas is provided. According to the report, mortality rates from respiratory illnesses are slightly higher in Central Texas though the region meets national air quality standards.
