ABSTRACT
The article presents information about a study related to the off-highway vehicle (OHV) use on federal lands in the U.S. and its environmental, social and safety impacts. It also analyzed the actions of several federal agencies to manage OHV use. The study recommends that the agencies should improve their strategic planning to provide quality OHV opportunities along with protection of federal lands and resources. It was conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO).
